PITTSBURGH, July 7 (UPI) -- Ted Lilly allowed an earned run and eight hits in 7 1/3 innings Saturday night as the Chicago Cubs beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 7-1.
Seven different Chicago players drove in a run. Alfonso Soriano and Ryan Theriot had three hits apiece for the Cubs, who have split their last four games.

Lilly (8-4) walked one batter and fanned six in his first career victory against the Pirates.
Pittsburgh's lone run scored on a double by Jack Wilson in the bottom of the seventh. Ronny Paulino had three of the eight hits for the Pirates, who faced a 5-0 deficit after three innings.
The loss snapped their four-game winning streak.
Losing pitcher John Van Benschoten (0-3) gave up five earned runs and seven hits in 2 2/3 innings.
