MLS: FC Dallas 2, Chivas USA 0

FRISCO, Texas, July 4 (UPI) -- Both Ramon Nunez and Dominic Oduro scored for the third time this season Wednesday, giving FC Dallas a 2-0 victory over Chivas USA.

Dallas boosted its lead over second-place Houston in the Western Conference to six points and nine points in front of Chivas.

Chivas had won four of its last five and this was only its second setback in nine games. It was the first victory for Dallas over Chivas in five tries.

Nunez scored in the 41st minute with a curving attempt that made its way into the upper left corner of the goal. Oduro's goal came in the 80th minute.

Dallas recorded its third shutout in four games after not having had one in 19 straight contests.
