Shane Victorino had three hits -- a solo homer in the seventh -- while both Aaron Rowand and Greg Dobbs had one RBI for the Phillies, who averted a four-game sweep.

Winner Kyle Kendrick (3-0) surrendered two earned runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. In his fourth major league start, he walked three batters and did not have a strikeout.

New York's Carlos Delgado hit his 13th homer of the season, a solo blast in the fourth.

Paul LoDuca and Ruben Gotay both had an RBI, and Delgado had two of the seven hits for the Mets, who have lost only twice in their last 10 games.

The loser was Mike Pelphrey (0-6).
