MLB: Minnesota 7, Florida 4

MIAMI, June 24 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer hit two homers and drove in three runs Sunday as Minnesota beat Florida 7-4.

He hit a solo homer in the top of the first, and his two-run blast in the sixth gave Minnesota what proved to be an insurmountable 7-2 lead.

Jason Bartlett drove in two runs, winner Johan Santana one and a run scored on Aaron Boone's fourth inning throwing error for the Twins, who made the most of seven hits in the fourth win in their last five games.

Santana (8-6) yielded two runs -- one earned -- and five hits in six innings with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Florida's Dan Uggla hit a solo homer and an RBI double.

Miguel Cabrera had two hits and one RBI and one run scored on a second-inning throwing error by Luis Rodriguez. Jeremy Hermida and Matt Treanor each had two hits for the Marlins, who have split their last six.

The loser was Byung-Hyum Kim (3-4).
