MLB: Arizona 8, Baltimore 3

PHOENIX, June 24 (UPI) -- Doug Davis allowed two earned runs and 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings Sunday as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat Baltimore, 8-3.

Davis (5-8) got solid offensive support as he bounced back from three straight spotty performances. He walked two batters and fanned three.

He added an RBI single as a batter in a three-run fourth.

Eric Byrnes hit two RBI singles; Scott Drew had two hits, including a solo home run; Chad Tracy had two hits, one a solo homer in the eighth; while Chris B. Young had two hits and scored three times for the Diamondbacks -- who beat Baltimore five times in six games in the past two weekends.

Brian Roberts had four hits including a solo home run. Melvin Mora had a solo homer, Jay Payton hit an RBI single, and three players had two hits for the Orioles, who have dropped 16 of their last 21 games.

Loser Steve Trachsel (5-6) surrendered five earned runs and seven hits in four innings.
