MLB: Detroit 15, Washington 1

WASHINGTON, June 19 (UPI) -- Sean Casey hit a three-run homer Tuesday as the Detroit Tigers racked up 17 hits in a 15-1 route of the Washington Nationals.

Brandon Inge added a three-run double for the Tigers, who have won four of their last five games. Detroit is tied with Cleveland for the AL Central lead.

Magglio Ordonez was 3-for-3 with a pair of runs and Marcus Thames had a two-run home run.

Chad Durbin (6-3) allowed one run on five hits in six innings for the win. Wilfredo Ledezma and Eulogio De La Cruz combined for three innings of scoreless relief,

Cristian Guzman was 2-for-3 with the lone RBI for the Nationals, who have lost four of their past five games. Dmitri Young was 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Losing pitcher Jason Simontacchi (4-5) gave up 10 runs on 10 hits in three innings.
