MLB: NY Mets 8, Minnesota 1

NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- Ricky Ledee homered and drove in two runs and John Maine pitched into the eighth Monday, leading the New York Mets to an 8-1 win over the Minnesota Twins.

Ledee scored twice for the Mets, who won for just the third time in their last 14 games. Carlos Delgado also homered and Paul Lo Duca had two hits and drove in a pair of runs for New York, which had 15 hits.

David Wright, who had a 17-game hit streak end Sunday, went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Mets.

Maine (7-4) got his first victory since May 26 as he gave up one run on four hits in 8 1/3 innings.

Michael Cuddyer extended his hit streak to nine games and drove in the lone run for the Twins, who have lost three of their last four.

Minnesota pitcher Carlos Silva (4-8) suffered his third loss in his last four starts. The right-hander allowed four runs on 10 hits in six innings.
