MLS: D.C. United 4, New York 2

WASHINGTON, June 10 (UPI) -- Ben Olsen produced the third hat trick of the MLS season Sunday as D.C. United extended its unbeaten streak to six games with a 4-2 win over New York.

United (4-3-2) moved within six points of New York (6-3-2), which is on top of the Eastern Conference.

It was the second straight game in which New York had yielded three goals to a single player. Eddie Johnson produced a hat trick for Kansas City last week.

Olsen's first goal came in the 15th minute when he put home a cross by Joshua Gross. His final two scores came in the final 18 minutes to give United a 4-1 advantage.
