PARIS, June 8 (UPI) -- The team of Alicia Molik and Mara Santangelo Friday captured the 2007 French Open women's doubles championship.

Molik and Santangelo reached the final by ousting the No. 2 pairing of Cara Black and Liezel Huber.

"You saw our joy out there on the courts," said Molik, who missed the first six months of last season with an inner ear infection. "That's how much it means to both Mara and I."

Molik and Santangelo will split a first prize of $385,000.

Sugiyama was also on the losing team in 2006, when she and Daniela Hantuchova were beaten by Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur.

Srebotnik and Sugiyama had beaten Raymond and Stosur in this year's semifinals.
