CLEVELAND, June 6 (UPI) -- Brian Bannister had his second straight solid outing Wednesday and Ryan Shealy hit a homer as Kansas City nipped Cleveland 4-3.

The Royals halted a three-game losing streak by handing Paul Byrd his first setback since April 21.

Byrd (6-2) was touched for four runs on 10 hits in six innings. He had gone 48 straight innings without issuing a walk before putting David DeJesus on base intentionally in the sixth. It was the longest such streak for a Cleveland pitcher in 44 years.
