MLB: N.Y. Mets 7, Arizona 1

NEW YORK, June 2 (UPI) -- Jorge Sosa and two relievers hurled a five-hitter Saturday as the New York Mets trounced Arizona 7-1, breaking the Diamondbacks' eight-game winning streak.

Sosa (5-1) surrendered one earned run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings. Relievers Joe Smith and Pedro Feliciano gave up a two hits in 2 1/3 innings.

New York's Ruben Gotay had a three-hit day, smashing a three-run homer and scoring twice. Carlos Delgado hit a solo homer and Jose Reyes drilled an RBI triple for the Mets, who have split their last four games.

Arizona's Eric Byrnes had two hits -- one a solo homer leading off the top of the first. Orlando Hudson also had two hits for the Diamondbacks, who last lost 2-0 May 23 against Colorado.

Loser Livan Hernandez (5-3) gave up three earned runs on eight hits in six innings.
