MLB: Tampa Bay 5, Detroit 3

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 30 (UPI) -- James Shields threw the second complete game of his career Wednesday and remained unbeaten for the year as Tampa Bay downed Detroit 5-3.

Shields (4-0) gave up seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts.

Tampa Bay took the lead in the sixth on a homer by Brendan Harris. Elijah Dukes also homered in helping the Devil Rays win for the third time in four games.

The Tigers have lost five out of six, with the latest defeat hung on Nate Robertson (4-5), who allowed four runs on nine hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Harris broke a 3-3 tie with a solo blast to right-center. Dukes then drew a walk and scored the game's final run on a double by B.J. Upton.
