MLB: Florida 3, LA Dodgers 0

MIAMI, May 10 (UPI) -- Josh Willingham hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday afternoon as Florida beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 3-0.

The contest was scoreless after 8 ½ innings before Hanley Ramirez led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk, Dan Uggla reached on a fielding error by Wilson Betemit, and Willingham launched his game-winning blast against Los Angeles starter Derek Lowe.

Uggla, Miguel Cabrera, and Aaron Boone had the only other hits for the Marlins, who had lost four of their previous five games.

Florida starter Sergio Mitre allowed three hits in eight innings with three walks and four strikeouts.

The winning pitcher was Taylor Tankersley (2-0) after a perfect ninth.

Lowe (3-4) gave up three runs -- two earned -- and five hits in 8 1/3 innings with three walks and six strikeouts.

Juan Pierre had two of the three hits for the Dodgers, who have split their last four games.
