MLB: St. Louis 9, Colorado 2

ST. LOUIS, May 9 (UPI) -- Scott Speizio scored twice and drove in two runs Wednesday to help St. Louis trounce Colorado 9-2.

Five other Cardinals drove in runs, including Aaron Miles, who collected three hits. Speizio, Albert Pujols and Ryan Ludwick each had two hits, while Chris Duncan scored twice for the NL Central cellar-dwelling Cardinals, who have split their last four games.

Winner Adam Wainwright(3-2) scattered two runs -- one earned -- on nine hits over six innings with no walks and four strikeouts.

Todd Helton and Brad Hawpe hit RBI doubles, while Helton and Omar Quintanilla both had two hits for the Rockies, who have lost three of four.

Losing pitcher Jason Hirsch (2-3) surrendered three earned runs and five hits in four innings with six walks and five strikeouts.
