MLB: Houston 7, Cincinnati 6

CINCINNATI, May 8 (UPI) -- Lance Berkman hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning Tuesday to give Houston the lead and the Astros went on to beat the Cincinnati Reds, 7-6.

Berkman went 2-for-4 and scored twice for the Astros. Carlos Lee added a two-run homer for Houston, which has won five of its last seven games.

Cincinnati's Ken Griffey Jr. hit the 568th homer of his career, moving him within one of Rafael Palmeiro for ninth all-time. Brandon Phillips also homered for the Reds, who have lost six of seven.

Houston reliever Brad Lidge (2-0) got the win.

Red starter Eric Milton went 5 1/3 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, with four strikeouts and one walk.

Brad Salmon ()-1) was tagged with the loss in relief.
