MLB: Milwaukee 4, St. Louis 0

MILWAUKEE, May 2 (UPI) -- Prince Fielder hit a key two-run single in the inning Wednesday afternoon as the Milwaukee Brewers beat St. Louis, 4-0, for their fourth straight win.

Starter Chris Capuano and relievers Carlos Villanueva and Matt Wise combined on a four-hitter for Milwaukee.

Capuano allowed two hits in three innings before leaving with a right-calf contusion -- the result of getting hit in the knee in the second inning by a comebacker off the bat of Aaron Miles. Capuano did not walk a batter and struck out one.

The winner was Villanueva (2-0).

Corey Hart hit an RBI single, and Bill Hall stole home in the fourth for the National League Central Division-leading Brewers, who had only four hits in their ninth win in their last 11 games.

Albert Pujols had three of the five hits for the Cardinals, who have dropped five in a row.

Losing pitcher Al Reyes (0-5) yielded four runs -- three earned -- and three hits in six innings, with four walks and eight strikeouts.
