NHL: NY Rangers 5, Philadelphia 0

NEW YORK, March 21 (UPI) -- Veteran Brendan Shanahan notched a pair of assists in his first game back Wednesday night to help the New York Rangers blank the Philadelphia Flyers 5-0.

Shanahan came back in time for the playoff run after a concussion last month forced him to miss 15 games.

Sean Avery scored two goals for the Rangers while Henrik Lundqvist made 17 saves for his fifth career shutout. Antero Niittymaki, Petr Prucha and Jaimr Jagar lit the lamp for the Rangers.

The game got off to a scary start when New York's Colton Orr decked Philadelphia's Todd Fedoruck during a fight that broke out 21 seconds into the game. Fedoruck had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher.
