NHL: Detroit 3, Los Angeles 2 (OT)

DETROIT, March 10 (UPI) -- Mikael Samuelsson scored with 1:34 left in overtime Friday night to give Detroit a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.

Los Angeles held a 2-1 lead entering the third period, courtesy of goals by Raitis Ivanans in the first and Brian Willsie in the second.

Brett Lebda tied the contest at 14:02 of the third period to force the extra time.

Pavel Datsyuk had a goal and an assist; and Dominik Hasek made 24 saves on 26 shots for the Red Wings, who have won four of their last five games to trail Nashville by one point in both the Central Division and in the race for the No. 1 overall point total in the NHL.

Sean Burke made a season-high 51 saves, but was beaten three times for the Kings, who suffered their fourth straight loss.

Neither team scored on the power play after five combined chances.
