NHL: Florida 6, Tampa Bay 2

SUNRISE, Fla., March 3 (UPI) -- Two goals each from Stephen Weiss and Nathan Horton Saturday night gave the Florida Panthers a 6-2 win over Tampa Bay.

Florida's Jacques Martin coached the 1,000th game of his career, becoming the 12th NHL coach to reach that milestone.

The Panthers scored on their first two shots, sending Tampa Bay goaltender Johan Holmqvist to the bench. It was Florida's fourth straight win, their longest streak of the season.

Tampa Bay's Nolan Pratt scored his first goal of the campaign.
