NEW YORK, Feb. 18 (UPI) -- A late first-period goal by Marcel Hossa Sunday afternoon lifted the New York Rangers past the Chicago Blackhawks, 2-1.

Jaromir Jagr had one assist for New York, increasing his points-scoring streak to six games in a row.

The Rangers played without forward Brendan Shanahan, who is out indefinitely following a scary collision in Saturday's game against Philadelphia. He was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital, and was discharged after a battery of tests.
