COL BKB: Wash. State 65, Washington 61

SEATTLE, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Taylor Rochestie had 16 points and four assists Wednesday night to guide 11th-ranked Washington State past archrival Washington, 65-61.

WSU held a 40-32 halftime lead, and could not shake the determined Huskies before any prolonged stretch.

The contest was tight for much of the second half.

Washington State forged ahead at 62-58 with a three-pointer by Derrick Low with 4:03 to go, but Justin Dentmon countered with his own three-pointer with 3:31 remaining.

Washington would not score again.

Low had 12 points, two rebounds, and two assists; and Ivory Clark added 10 points and three rebounds for the Cougars (22-4, 11-4 Pac-10), who have won their last five games.

Spencer Hawes had 22 points and five rebounds to lead Washington.

Jon Brockman had 15 points and 14 rebounds; while Dentmon and Ryan Appleby score nine points each for the Huskies (16-9, 6-8), who had won five of six coming into the game.
