NBA: Dallas 94, Minnesota 93

DALLAS, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Jason Terry and Josh Howard scored 22 points apiece Saturday night as the Dallas Mavericks edged the Minnesota Timberwolves, 94-93.

The Mavericks had a 56-47 halftime lead and withstood a late Minnesota rally. The Timberwolves trimmed a 90-79 deficit with just under six minutes left in the fourth down to 92-90 with 1:43 remaining.

Terry also had two assists and three steals, and Howard added 10 rebounds.

Dirk Nowitzki had 18 points and five rebounds, and Devean George and Jerry Stackhouse each scored seven points for the Mavericks, who have won four games in a row.

Kevin Garnett led Minnesota with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Ricky Davis had 20 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Mark Blount had 16 points and eight rebounds, and Trenton Hassell had 13 points and four assists for the Timberwolves, who have a three-game losing streak.
