LA JOLLA, Calif., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Brandt Snedeker held his lead Friday in the second round of the PGA's Buick Invitational golf tournament in La Jolla, Calif.
The 26-year-old PGA rookie -- who finished in a tie for 60th place at last week's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic in Palm Springs, Calif. -- opened the Buick Invitational with a record-setting 11-under 61, but came back to Earth in the second round with a 2-under 70.
His total after 36 holes is 13-under 131, three shots ahead of Charles Howell III (64), who is second at 10-under 134.
Bill Haas (66), Rich Beem (68) and Charlie Wi (72) are tied for third at 9-under 135.
World No. 1 Tiger Woods shot only even-par 72 Friday, and is among 15 players tied for 12th place at 6-under 138.
Among those who missed the cut were Rory Sabatini (142), Jose Maria Olazabal (144) and Billy Mayfair (144).
