SEATTLE, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Carmelo Anthony scored 34 points and Alan Iverson had 21 points and 10 assists as the Denver Nuggets edged the Seattle SuperSonics 117-112 Tuesday night.
Anthony also had nine rebounds in his second game his 15-game suspension, and his second game with new teammate Iverson. He played 41 minutes and was 12-of-26 from the field.
The Nuggets extended their winning streak to five games, thanks in large part to a 10-0 run late in the fourth quarter that put some distance between them and the host Sonics.
Seattle took a 106-103 lead with just over three minutes to play on a basket by Chris Wilcox, who scored 25 for Seattle. Steve Blake responded for Denver with a three-pointer that tied the game. Denver then took off with another Blake trey, two free throws by Nene and a layup by Anthony off a blocked shot.
Ray Allen led the Sonics with 44 points, including a pair of three-pointers at the end of the game that made the final score close.
