NASHVILLE, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Chris Mason recorded his fifth shutout of the season in the Nashville Predators' 4-0 victory Thursday night over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Mason stopped 33 shots in helping Nashville to its seventh win in eight games. The Predators are 6-0 this season against Columbus, which has lost five of six overall.
David Legwand gave Mason all the support he would need with a goal 4:07 into the game when he tucked the puck around the right post. Steve Sullivan made it 2-0 at the 13:18 mark of the first period off a pass from Jason Arnott.
The Predators' Paul Kariya scored during a power play in the middle of the second period and Martin Erat capped the scoring with a wrist shot from the right circle in the third period.
Columbus goaltender Ty Conklin faces 26 shots but was saddled with all four Nashville goals.
