COL BKB: Kansas 80, Rhode Island 69

LAWRENCE, Kan., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Julian Wright had 23 points and eight rebounds Saturday to lead the 10th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks to an 80-69 victory over the Rhode Island Rams.

Brandon Rush added 19 points and six rebounds and Sherron Collins had 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Jayhawks (12-2), who have won their last six games.

Will Daniels had 21 points and eight rebounds and Darrell Harris added 12 points for the Rams (7-7), who have lost three of their last four games.

Kansas opened the game with a 13-2 lead in less than four minutes. Rhode Island responded with a 12-4 run and cut the score to 17-14 but the Jayhawks scored the next 13 points to take control.
