COL BKB: Washington 105, Portland St. 73

SEATTLE, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Justin Dentmon had 18 points and a career-high nine rebounds Saturday night as 17th-ranked Washington beat Portland State, 105-73.

Spencer Hawes and Quincy Pondexter had 16 points each, and Ryan Appleby scored 15 for the Huskies (8-1), who shot 59.7 percent from the floor.

Ryan Sommer had 14 points and six assists for the Vikings (7-4), who shot just 35.8 percent from the floor.

The Huskies scored eight unanswered points to build an early 11-5 lead. They ran that to 33-15 with less than eight minutes left in the half, and then took a 48-35 lead to the locker room.

Portland State never got within less than double digits the rest of the way -- and the Huskies led by 25 at one point during the second half.
