NHL: Buffalo 3, New Jersey 2

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Daniel Briere had three assists and Ryan Miller made 31 saves Tuesday as the Buffalo Sabres posted a 3-2 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

Jochen Hecht, Maxim Afinogenov and Jason Pominville all scored for Buffalo, which has won seven of its last 10 games.

Martin Brodeur allowed three goals on 24 shots for the Devils, who saw their five-game winning streak an end. Erik Rasmussen and Brian Gionta scored third-period goals for New Jersey.

After a scoreless first period in which Miller make 15 saves, the Sabres took a 1-0 lead with 7:55 remaining in the second period.
