NBA: Minnesota 110, Utah 103

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Kevin Garnett had 31 points and 14 rebounds Friday night as Minnesota downed the Utah Jazz, 110-103.

Mike James had 28 points, three rebounds and three assists for Minnesota. Ricky Davis had 21 points and four assists; while Trenton Hassell added 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists for the Timberwolves, who have followed a three-game losing streak with three wins in a row.

Deron Williams had 21 points and 11 assists for the Jazz, who had won their previous two games, but failed to help Coach Jerry Sloan record his 1,000th NBA win.

Mehmet Okur had 18 points and four rebounds; Derek Fisher totaled 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals; and Andrei Kirilenko had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Jazz, who lost for the fourth time in seven games to fall into a tie with San Antonio for the best mark in the Western Conference.
