CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Tyler Hansbrough scored 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting Saturday to lead the third-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels to a 94-69 victory over High Point.
Brandan Wright, Reyshawn Terry and Ty Lawson each scored 11 points and Marcus Ginyard added 10 for North Carolina (7-1), which has won four straight games.
Arizona Reid had 26 points and eight rebounds, and Mike Jefferson added 14 points for High Point (6-4).
Tar Heels Coach Roy Williams got his 500th career victory. He reached the 500-win mark in his 19th season, faster than any other Division-I coach.
Jerry Tarkanian was the former record-setter, winning his 500th game in his 20th season.
Williams is 82-24 in his fourth season at North Carolina. He was 418-101 in 15 seasons at Kansas.
