NBA: Washington 106, Dallas 97

WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Gilbert Arenas had 38 points Monday as the Washington Wizards ended the Dallas Mavericks' 12-game winning streak with a 106-97 victory.

Antawn Jamison added 20 points and 12 rebounds and Caron Butler 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Wizards, who have won three of their last four games.

Dirk Nowitzki had a 27 points and nine rebounds for Dallas, which lost for the first time since dropping its first four games of the season. Jerry Stackhouse and Devean George each had 14 points in defeat.

Arenas scored 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting and had five assists; and Jamison had 12 points and six rebounds in the first 24 minutes.

Washington led by as many as 31 points and was ahead 88-66 going into the fourth quarter.
