HKN: Vancouver 2, Colorado 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Taylor Pyatt scored the game-winning goal in the third period and Roberto Luongo made 40 saves as Vancouver edged Colorado, 2-1, in NHL action Saturday.

Daniel Sedin tallied the other goal for the Canucks, who have won two of their last three games.

John-Michael Liles scored the lone goal for the Avalanche, who had won five of their previous seven games.

Avs goaltender Jose Theodore faced just six shots in the first period before leaving the game with a pulled abdominal muscle. Peter Budaj took his place and finished with 16 saves.
