COL BKB: Connecticut 106, Texas South 55

STORRS, Conn., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- No. 15 Connecticut opened the game on a 12-4 run Sunday afternoon and walloped Texas Southern, 106-55.

A.J. Price had 20 points and seven assists; Jerome Dyson had 19 points and five rebounds; Doug Wiggins had 17 points, four assists, and two rebounds; both Marcus Johnson and Jeff Adrien scored 11 points; while Adrien added nine rebounds for the Huskies (7-0), who shot 57 percent from the field, out-rebounded TSU, 40-25; and forced 25 turnovers.

Leonta Matthews was the only Texas Southern player in double figures with 10 points; while their second leading scorer, Chris Moore, scored only eight points for the Tigers (2-6), who lost for the third time over their last four games.

UConn's halftime lead was 58-28.
