NFL: Washington 17, Carolina 13

LANDOVER, Md., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Jason Campbell and Chris Cooley hooked up on a 66-yard scoring play late in the fourth quarter Sunday afternoon as Washington beat Carolina, 17-13.

The long play came after Steve Smith made a circus catch for a touchdown on an 8-yard pass from Jake Delhomme to give the Panthers a 13-10 lead.

The Panthers led, 6-3, at halftime.

Washington took a 10-6 lead on the final play of the third quarter when Campbell threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Antwaan Randle El.

Campbell completed 11-for-23 for 108 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Ladell Betts gained 104 yards on 24 carries as Washington (4-7) broke a two-game skid.

Delhomme went 23-for-38 for 168 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Jon Kasay kicked two field goals for the Panthers (6-5), who had won their previous two games.

The Panthers fell one game behind the Saints for first place in the NFC South.
