COL BKB: Kansas 68, Ball State 46

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Mario Chalmers scored a team-high 13 points Friday night as 12th-ranked Kansas struggled to beat un-ranked Ball State, 64-46.

Brandon Rush had 11 points and nine rebounds; Russell Robinson scored 10 points; and Julian Wright had nine points and 12 rebounds for the Jayhawks, who won their third game in a row.

Anthony Newell had 15 points and nine rebounds; Julien Mills had 13 points and four rebounds; and Andre Payton had seven points and five rebounds for the Cardinals, who lost the contest despite forcing 17 turnovers and limiting Kansas to just 40 percent shooting.

The Jayhawks led, 28-19, at halftime, out-rebounded the Cardinals, 41-32, but shot just 27.3 percent from the field.

The game was part of the in the third round of the Las Vegas (Nev.) Invitational.

Kansas plays top-ranked Florida for the title on Saturday night; while Ball State battles Western Kentucky for third place.
