COL FB: LSU 23, Mississippi 20 (OT)

BATON ROUGE, La., Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Colt David kicked a 26-yard field goal after a Mississippi fumble in overtime Saturday night as No. 9 LSU avoided an upset with a 23-20 win over the Rebels.

JaMarcus Russell completed 19-of-35 passes for 217 yards and three touchdowns for the Tigers (9-2, 5-2 SEC), who were officially eliminated from SEC title contention Saturday with Arkansas' win over Mississippi State.

The Razorbacks, who clinched the SEC Western Division, will meet Florida for the conference championship.

Dwayne Bowe caught seven passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns while Early Doucet also had a score for LSU, which has won five in a row.

Brent Schaeffer completed just 6-of-14 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown for the Rebels (3-8, 1-6).
