NHL: Los Angeles 5, Phoenix 3

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Alexander Frolov had two goals and one assist Saturday afternoon as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Phoenix Coyotes, 5-3.

He scored on the power play at 11:47 of the first period to give the Kings a 1-0 lead, and his short-handed goal 13 minutes into the second period upped the lead to 3-0.

Rob Blake, Craig Conroy and Scott Thornton also scored goals for Los Angeles. Lubomir Visnovsky had two assists, and goalie Dan Cloutier made 36 saves on 39 shots for the Kings, who never trailed and won for just the second time in their last five games.

Georges Laraque had a goal and an assist, Yanic Perreault and Oleg Saprykin each scored a goal, and goalies David LeNeveu and Curtis Joseph combined to give up five goals on 39 shots for the Coyotes, who had won their previous two games.

The Kings went 3-for-8 on the power play, and the Coyotes were 0-for-2.
