COL FB: Oklahoma 34, Iowa State 9

NORMAN, Okla., Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Adrian Peterson had 228 all-purpose yards and scored twice Saturday but broke his collar bone late in the game as No. 22 Oklahoma beat Iowa State, 34-9.

Peterson rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries and added three catches for 45 yards for Oklahoma (4-2, 1-1 Big 12).

Peterson was injured on a 53-yard touchdown run with 6:38 left in the game. Coach Bob Stoops said his star running back might not return until a possible bowl game.

Oklahoma's Paul Thompson was 16-of-27 for 195 yards with a pair of touchdown passes, both of which went to Malcolm Kelly.

Iowa State's Bret Meyer was 14-of-25 for 149 yards with a TD toss and two interceptions for the Cyclones (3-4, 0-3), who have dropped four of their last five games.
