Ochoa wins in her native Mexico

MICHOACAN, Mexico, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Lorena Ochoa Sunday won the LPGA's Corona Morelia Championship golf tournament by five shots in Michoacan, Mexico.

Ochoa, a native of Guadalajara, shot 4-under 69 Sunday to set a scoring record with a 20-under 272 total.

Ochoa earned $150,000 for the victory, her fourth of the season.

"It was a very special week (and) a very special day today," Ochoa admitted. "I have no way to compare this. For me, it's like a U.S. Open, being able to play in my country and win in front of my people."

Julieta Granada, who began the day three shots behind Ochoa, was the runner-up at 15-under 277 following a 2-under 71. Paula Creamer (65) was third at 14-under 278, Young-A Yang (69) was fourth and five players tied for fifth at 9-under 283.
