MLB: Tampa Bay 11, Boston 0

BOSTON, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Tampa Bay erupted for nine runs in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday night and blanked the Boston Red Sox, 11-0.

Rocco Baldelli hit a three-run homer; Greg Norton hit a two-run homer; Baldelli, Norton, and Ty Wigginton each had three RBI; while Baldelli; Norton, Wigginton, Carl Crawford, and B.J. Upton all had two hits for the Devil Rays (61-97), who broke a brief two-game skid.

Winner Tim Corcoran (5-9) scattered four hits over 6 2/3 scoreless innings with five walks and seven strikeouts.

Dustin Pedroia had two of the five hits for the Red Sox (84-75), who have six losses in their last 10 games.

Losing pitcher Josh Beckett (16-11) was pounded for eight runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings with one walk and eight strikeouts.
