MLB: Cleveland 6, Chicago WSox 0

CLEVELAND, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- C.C. Sabathia hurled eight scoreless innings and Ryan Garko had a three-run homer and five RBI as Cleveland posted a 6-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Sabathia (12-11) allowed just four hits without a walk and tied a career-high with 11 strikeouts. He also retired the last 10 batters he faced.

Victor Martinez knocked in the other run for the Indians, who won their fourth consecutive game.

Pablo Ozuna doubled and Paul Konerko, Sandy Alomar Jr. and Brian Anderson each got base hits for the White Sox, who were already eliminated from playoff contention. Last year's World Series champions have lost nine of their last 12 games.

Javier Vazquez (11-11) took the loss after he yielded six runs on six hits over seven innings. He struck out 12.
