COL FB: Alabama 41, Louisiana-Monroe 7

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- John Parker Wilson threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns to lead Alabama to a 41-7 win over Louisiana-Monroe at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

Wilson completed 13 of 21 passes without an interception against the Warhawks in a non-conference bout.

Kenneth Darby finished with 79 rushing yards on 14 carries for Alabama (3-0), while Keith Brown posted five catches for 82 yards.

For Louisiana-Monroe (1-2), Calvin Dawson churned out 118 rushing yards on 16 carries. But quarterback Kinsmon Lancaster was only able to tally 73 yards on 10 of 20 attempts.

The Warhawks got on the board at the 8:30 mark of the second quarter, courtesy of a two-yard touchdown run by Lancaster that capped off an 11-play, 83-yard drive.

The Alabama defense put forth a solid effort, holding Louisiana-Monroe to under 200 yards of total offense and only 10 first downs for the game.
