OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Nelson Cruz had two home runs and five RBI Monday while powering the Texas Rangers to an 8-1 victory over the Oakland Athletics.
Cruz, who went 3-for-4, including an inside-the-park homer, left the game in the eighth after fouling a ball off his foot in the previous inning.

Robinson Tejada (4-3) worked 6 2/3 innings for the win, giving up an unearned run on 10 hits and two walks.
Barry Zito (15-9), who had won his last three starts, was battered for seven runs on six hits with six walks and two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Frank Thomas drove in a run for Oakland. He tied Fred McGriff (1,550) for 36th on the all-time RBI list.
