MLB: Minnesota 2, Tampa Bay 1

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Rondell White's two-run homer with two outs in the seventh inning gave Minnesota a 2-1 win Monday over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Justin Morneau led off the seventh with a single off Tampa Bay starter Tim Corcoran before stealing second. The Twins almost stranded Morneau as Corcoran retired the next two batters prior to White's homer.

Jesse Crain and Dennys Reyes combined to pitch 1 2/3 innings of scoreless ball and Joe Nathan set the side down in order in the ninth for his 29th save of the season.

Boof Bonser (4-5) picked up the win, giving up just one run -- a solo home run to Dioner Navarro in the fifth inning -- and five hits through 6 1/3 innings.

The Twins moved into a tie with the Chicago White Sox for the American League wild card lead.
