COL FB: Michigan 27, Vanderbilt 7

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Mike Hart ran for 146 yards and a touchdown Saturday afternoon as No. 15 Michigan beat Vanderbilt, 27-7.

Chad Henne was 10-of-22 passing for 135 yards and two touchdowns. Steve Breaston caught four passes for 68 yards, Kevin Grady ran 19 yards for a touchdown on the first possession of the season, while Mario Manningham and Tyler Ecker both caught scoring passes for the Wolverines (1-0).

Vanderbilt wide receiver Earl Bennett threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Marlon White in the second quarter on his only pass. Quarterback Chris Nickson was 11-of-25 for 99 yards. Nickson was the leading rusher with 22 yards on 16 carries and Bennett caught six passes for 58 yards for the Commodores (0-1).

Four different running backs rushed for 20 or more yards and the defense made five sacks for Michigan.
