EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Edson Buddle posted his first hat trick of the season Saturday to lead Red Bull New York to a 6-0 MLS victory over Real Salt Lake.
Buddle joins Brian Ching and Jean Philippe Peguero as the only three MLS players in 2006 to record three goals in a single match.

John Wolyniec added a goal and an assist for Red Bull, who bounced back from a 3-1 loss to D.C. United in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals during mid-week action.
It was also the first league win for New York since former U.S. National Team Coach Bruce Arena took over.
Real Salt Lake had a four-game win streak halted and lost for the first time since being blanked by FC Dallas, 1-0, July 22.
