MLB: Minnesota 11, Baltimore 2

BALTIMORE, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Joe Mauer and Michael Cuddyer combined to drive in eight runs Thursday night as Minnesota hammered the Baltimore Orioles, 11-2.

Mauer, the American League's leading hitter, had two runs, three hits, and four RBI; Cuddyer had one run, four hits, and four RBI; Justin Morneau and Torii Hunter each hit solo home runs; Luis Castillo had three runs and three hits; and Nick Punto had two runs and two hits for the Twins (74-52), who have six wins in their last 10 games.

Winner Boof Bonser (3-4) surrendered two runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings with one walk and four strikeouts.

Ramon Hernandez hit a two-run homer but no other player had more than one hit for the Orioles (56-71), who have lost three of their last four games.

Losing pitcher Kris Benson (10-10) was pounded for six runs and 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings.
