MLB: Cincinnati 5, Pittsburgh 1

CINCINNATI, Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Aaron Harang gave up one run and five hits in seven innings Sunday afternoon as Cincinnati beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-1.

Scott Hatteberg had two hits, including a solo home run, and three RBI; Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer; Ryan Freel had a run and two hits; and Brandon Phillps also had two hits for the Reds (64-60), who have split their last 10 games.

Harang (13-8) had no walks and nine strikeouts.

Jason Bay hit a solo home run; while Xavier Nady and Jack Wilson both had two hits for the Pirates (47-77), who have split their last 10 games.

Freddy Sanchez had his 11-game hit streak broken.

Losing pitcher Victor Santos (5-8) gave up five runs and 10 hits in five innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Before Sunday's game, the Reds placed pitcher Eddie Guardado on the 15-day disabled list with tendinitis in his left elbow.
