MLB: Cincinnati 5, Atlanta 4

CINCINNATI, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Royce Clayton's two-run homer in the sixth inning Friday night helped the Cincinnati Reds beat the Atlanta Braves, 5-4.

Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run double, and Juan Castro hit an RBI single for the Reds (56-53), who made the most of their six hits to snap a five-game losing streak.

Winning pitcher Aaron Harang (12-7) yielded two runs and five hits in six innings with three walks and two strikeouts.

Eddie Guardado earned his seventh save.

Brian McCann hit a two-run homer, Jeff Francoeur hit a solo homer, and Marcus Giles had three hits and one RBI for the Braves (50-58), who have lost two straight and six of their last eight games.

Loser Chuck James (4-3) gave up four runs and only two hits in 5 1/3 innings with three walks and three strikeouts.
