MLB: Colorado 4, Milwaukee 2

DENVER, July 31 (UPI) -- Aaron Cook won for the first time in a month and Matt Holliday hit his 20th home run of the season Monday to lead Colorado to a 4-2 win over Milwaukee.

Cook (7-9) allowed two runs on four hits with four strikeouts and three walks in eight innings. He hadn't won since June 27, and the Rockies had lost 11 of his previous 12 starts.

Brian Fuentes pitched a perfect ninth for his 20th save to finish the game in 2 hours, 6 minutes.

Garrett Atkins also homered for the Rockies, who got their 1,000th victory in franchise history.

Damian Miller got two of the four hits for the Brewers, who have dropped four of six. Chris Capuano (10-7) allowed four runs on seven hits in eight innings.
